There are various ways to make your impact on Hillel's future

Bequest

A bequest is a gift for Hillel in your will or revocable living trust. Your donation can be designated to support a specific aspect of Hillel’s programs or remain unrestricted. Simply add a paragraph of text provided by Hillel to your will or trust - every gift is appreciated no matter the amount. Suggested language is ‘I give (cash of $_________) or (specified property) or (____% of my estate) or (the residue of my estate) to Hillel, the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life at UCLA located at 574 Hilgard Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024. IRA and Retirement Assets

Naming Hillel as beneficiary of your IRA or Retirement Assets can save your loved ones sizable tax bills (distributions to non-charitable beneficiaries are taxable at ordinary income rates, however Hillel pays no income tax providing our students with the full benefit). Complete a beneficiary designation from through your plan administrator (your Will does not govern your IRA, 401(k) or other qualified plan).

Trusts

Charitable remainder trusts pay lifetime income to donors and/or other named beneficiaries. Cash, appreciated stock, real estate or other property is transferred to the trust. The donor receives income back, a partial income tax deduction in the year of the gift, and avoidance of capital gains tax if long term appreciated property is contributed.

Securities

Gifts of appreciated stock (including stock in closely held companies) may also be made. Gifts of long term appreciated stock (held more than one year) avoid capital gain taxes and their full fair market value is deductible as a charitable contribution from income taxes.

Hi there,Since beginning my work with Hillel at UCLA in 2012, I’ve had the honor of working with thousands of students and developing Hillel’s leadership training program, allowing us to drastically expand our impact each year on campus. It’s been the most meaningful work of my lifetime, and I am constantly grateful to have the opportunity to do this work. My own journey was deeply affected by my Hillel experience, and it’s incredibly gratifying to be able to work with students in life’s most liminal moment of development. You make all of this possible. Every interaction with students and community members, every Shabbat service, and every educational program would not be possible without the generous support of contributors like you.
