YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME HOME

Hillel at UCLA's mission is to be the home away from home at UCLA for all Jewish students to build their identities through Jewish life, learning, and Israel.

Through the creation of meaningful Jewish experiences, our goal is to discover each student's or needs and, through these pursuits, provide energizing opportunities to embrace Judaism - now and for a lifetime. Our six key program areas build a community anchored by Jewish values: Leadership, Social Action, Jewish Learning, Israel, Shabbat & Holidays, Culture & The Arts.

Since the resolution was adopted in the UN General Assembly and not in the UN Security Council, it is unfortunately not binding and not enforceable.

A MESSAGE FROM PERLA KARNEY, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Since its inception, the mission of the Dortort Center for Creativity in the Arts has been to make art and culture an integral part of the Hillel experience for students at UCLA. Our five gallery spaces, including the Dortort Gallery, the Spiegel Gallery, and the Gindi Gallery, encompass 2,500 square feet and present nine art exhibits every academic year. Perla has been the Artistic Director since 2004. The Dortort Center has mounted over one hundred exhibits featuring artists from around the world. We have presented Musical Salons, Documentary and Film Screenings, Staged Play Readings, Book readings, Student Fine Art Shows, Student Photo Exhibits, Lectures, Art Panels and a host of other art and cultural events. In addition, we collaborated with award winning composer and Rockefeller fellow Yotam Haber on the American premiere of his new work Death Will Come And She Shall Have Your Eyes which was performed at UCLA's Schoenberg Hall. We thank our distinguished Dortort Center Advisory Board as well as our generous sponsors who have made our programs possible. Here is a video tribute to mentor Rabbi Chaim Seidler-Feller as well.

A QUALITY EVENT DESTINATION WITH KOSHER DINING AT UCLA

About Our Facility

The Hillel Center for Jewish Life at UCLA was officially dedicated in 2002. The 25,000 square foot building is a dynamically designed home away from home for thousands of Jewish and non-Jewish young adults currently enrolled at UCLA - a place where students socialize and share Jewish learning, celebrations and programs. The Grade A, multi-use building has a dedicated staff and state-of-the-art amenities. We can comfortably accommodate functions of diverse size and style - such as a weekly book club for 12, dinner and dancing for 150 or a public lecture and cocktail reception for 300.

Kosher Catering

Our Kosher Table is Hillel's full-service, kosher-certified in-house caterer. Hillel also houses a fully-functional Coffee Bean Bar & Lounge.
